Diving on
Grenada
Carriacou
- an inhabited offshore island of Grenada - is the heart
of the area's diving activities. The life of this sleepy island
exists undersea, where there is a steady flow of darting fish. Trawl
around the gigantic walls of Sister Rocks, and eye the site's
dramatic drop-off. Avid divers will love exploring the bounteous
wrecks and reefs of Carriacou and Grenada, which harbors a sunken
cruise ship below its waters. The ss Bianca C wreck, a 600-foot
Italian cruise liner, sank in 1961 after it caught fire. Today,
it is home to colonies of yellowtail snappers and kingfish. Your
underwater excursion shouldn't end there. There is a lot more
to observe at the bed of the ocean waters surrounding Grenada. Choose
from a number of dive operators on the island for a guided tour
through this marvelous marine land.
